Richard Beyer was born and raised in Neptune City, New Jersey. Dick’s father worked with Pepsi (instilling a lifelong admiration in Dick for Pepsi and its memorabilia) and his mother was a daycare employee. In 1970, Dick left New Jersey to attend Wake Forest University. He was pre-accepted into Wake Forest’s law program while still working on a Political Science major, and was able to overlap his final year of college with his first year of law school. Dick graduated Wake Forest School of Law in 1976.
After graduation, Dick Beyer went to work as an associate attorney for Simpson, Baker & Aycock, a Morganton firm. There, Dick handled primarily District Court and Real Property matters. After 17 years, Dick left the firm and founded Richard W. Beyer, Attorney at Law. That law firm is now Beyer & Lippert. Beyer & Lippert continues Dick’s tradition of providing local legal representation to those in Burke, Caldwell, and Catawba Counties. The firm has expanded over the years, offering services in family law, criminal defense, traffic defense, civil disputes, and more.
After moving to town in the 70’s, Dick started a family, and to this day maintains a home in the city limits of Morganton with his wife, Mary.
